Silverdale Earns Rare ACSI Exemplary Accredited Status

 

We are delighted to announce that once again, Silverdale Baptist Academy has received a rare exemplary accreditation status through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Exemplary is the highest level of accredited member status that may be granted by the association to a school.  23,400 schools across the globe use ACSI as their accrediting agency.  As of today, there are only 17 ACSI schools that have achieved exemplary status.  In addition, SBA continues to benefit from a joint accreditation partnership between ACSI and Cognia.

Schools working towards accreditation must complete a comprehensive self-study, host a site visit team of educators outside the school every five years, and develop and implement a continuous school improvement plan to maintain accreditation.  An exemplary status requires a truly collaborative effort across the entire school.  Exemplary accreditation requires a school to demonstrate that it has met 40 additional demanding and specific criteria above the usual accreditation standards. These criteria include the areas of governance, executive leadership, school viability, student learning, spiritual development, and school culture.

I am very humbled that Silverdale has been identified as being one of the top ACSI schools in the world. I declare that it is all to the Glory of God, and it has been His hand of favor that has moved Silverdale into this spotlight. It is your children who are going to benefit significantly from this honor being bestowed upon our Academy.

It has been one of my highest honors to have been allowed to serve the Lord by leading this Academy for the last 22 years. I humbly thank you for the faith and trust you have placed in my administration, faculty, and staff. These individuals have devoted their lives and their careers to your children, and they are second to none!

I look forward to sharing with you what we have learned through this accreditation process. Each 5-year visit allows us to take a deep dive into all aspects of SBA. From that deep dive comes a continuous school improvement plan. It is that plan that allows SBA to remain a vital and thriving academy and not one that has grown stagnant. This plan, while always challenging, leads us into unity towards the same goals. I look forward to sharing that plan with all of our stakeholders over the next few weeks.
